That image looks like a typical Nikhil Devasar photo with his 800 tele.

All those shore birds are called Waders. They are like ~3 dozen species of Waders in India. Nobody really knows all the names. I haven't seen most of them, either.

Thanks to you, for making efforts to take pictures and posting them here for everybody to enjoy.

Birds partying at a nightclub and dancing at a discothèque ..... .....

Rio - Hot Wings (I Wanna Party) -- Performed by -- will.i.am, Jamie Foxx, Anne Hathaway

L y r i c s .. h e r e.

I want to party, I want to samba
I want to party, I want to samba
I want to party, And live my life
I want to party, And fly

Imma fly, fly just like a bird
(But you are a bird!), Oh yeah, you're right,
So let me fly just like a rocket, then (ok)
Fly so high where I need to come down for oxygen

As far as I know, they are the same world-wide. I'd suggest google images, but I seem (even with safe search on moderate, to get pictures of tatoos on semi-clad girls. Maybe google images has given up on there being any other images on the web!)

They are totally different birds. There are various types of sparrows found in India and there are different types of swallows too. Apart from the physical looks and characters, the main difference is while sparrows are resident breeders (meaning they stay here and breed here), swallows are winter visitors. The barn swallows - most common swallows found in India -are winter visitors, to be very precise.
The best online resource for checking bird photographs of the orient region is the website http://orientalbirdimages.org/

Welcome to the wonderful world of birds and birding. Never mind about being an amateur. I am no professional either. Started just a few years before you. Everyone has to start somewhere. I think I have learnt the most from a google group forum on Indian birding and also from field trips with a few senior birders some of whom are legendary. The google group forum is the most practical way to go about it. Once you start making field trips you will need a good pair of binoculars, a cap and a field guide book. That's all you need really to enjoy this hobby.

no such luck. the whole forest is sealed off by water and the old way in is shut off. the lake was way too full for waders and the few ducks were very far awy. well I got a good walk any how.
