Bump !

An ill-informed guess of mine: could it possibly be a bottle-brush flower ?

Hello All!!

Posting a photograph of Karvi flower - clicked yesterday morning!!
Rohi da Fort, Bhor, Pune.
23 August 2015.

These flowers bloom once in 7/8 yrs! Last time the flowers were seen in 2007 in Kaas Plateau! Even though it was expected to bloom again in 2014, we could see the blossoms only this year. This is my first sighting of this flower. Had been to Kaas plateau twice before but was lucky only yesterday!

Yes, its a rare happening, Prakaant!

While clicking the pic I was in fact thinking about that one scene from the movie 'Dennis the menace' where everybody is waiting anxiously for that rare flower to bloom and which was so much awaited event for George and Dennis typically ruins that magical moment for each one there!!

I just ran and concentrated on getting one clear pic of this flower - did not want to make any mistake. But then these flowers will be there till September end, I suppose. It will be a treat for our eyes if anybody visits Kaas plateau this year. They will get the purple carpet pics if they are lucky. This year there will be mass blooming of these flowers.

Yes, I saw something written on Kaas palteau here and a lot many photographs here.

Wish I could visit Kaas one day. It could be an alternative for valley of Flowers, I believe...

Prakaant, you will find many pics from Kaas Plateau right here on IM. .
There is a thread where the Kaas plateau updates are posted regularly once the flowering begins.

You must definitely visit the plateau! It's wonderful - to say the least.

Some photos I had taken during my last visit to Kaas -
