I am a great lover of this creature. Had suffered injuries in past but never set my back from animal rescue, specially snakes. This one is clicked with my cell phone in the other hand. Other times I didn't get so lucky. You have to be really concentrated while handling snakes, even the non poisonous ones can give you bad injuries(one mark I carry from a rat snake) and blood loss.

This snake is a non-poisonous water snake, but beware mates can be very aggressive. A bite really hurts.
If a problem can be solved there is no use worrying about it. If it cant be solved, worrying will do no good ~ H.H

At Tise Janani. It is a resident of a water tank in the complex. It was pitch dark. We had to find where it was using a torch and then click it.

It could be a boa. I am not sure. It was also swimming in the water.

Not a boa for sure..... The tail suggests that.

It may be a dog faced water snake

Not so creepy, but rather crawly! I have respect for this little guy, we watched him asleep in the sun on the track at Dhilala when a matriarch elephant came across with a group of youngsters protecting a baby. They did not see this little guy until they were over it. The older elephant started kicking at it with her hind leg creating a dust cloud. How it escaped I don't know but we watched it scuttle away after it's beating and stop on the grass to recover...Definitely stunned but alive!!

Red crawlers

Once they were major attractions of sea beaches, but we're awfully responsible to make them leave homeland so much so we occupied it.

They are in few numbers only in lesser known beaches.

One funny one-handed crab we found in Vitarkanika - half merged into mud, showing that one attacking hand only. Also saw in Bakkhali long ago. http://www.fiddlercrab.info/

Last one is hermit crab
