Seems like there are more Insect lovers!! Loving each and every post!!

David, thanks for those photographs along with the notes! It is like reading 'Monarch - ipedia', with all those input from fellow IMers! Thanks all.

I loved the caterpillar photographs, the most! The are so colorful & beautiful.

@DJ, I think the butterfly photos are of 'Mormon'.

EDIT: All these discussion about Monarch butterflies makes me post this photograph!

The Common Tiger, also called Striped Tiger in India to differentiate it from the equally common Plain Tiger ! I should mention that I read in wikipedia that this butterfly closely resembles the Monarch butterfly (Danaus plexippus) of the Americas.

Yes naveena, Mormon is there, but the first one is - Crimson Rose Atrophaneura hector. Found this beautiful one on the cover of a book on Indian Butterfly : http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-CmoMAJ0duf...utterflies.jpg

This is cute insect sitting on my palms. I don't know the name but seemed to be a larva. Was very strong than any normal one.

@Legless Soul, this caterpillar grows to become the Oleander Hawk Moth. This is how the caterpillar looks like just before pupating.

Are you still having problem seeing the photo? Others seem to have no problem!

Ronak, tripsammy, david & Legless Soul - I am jealous , you all got to see those lizards or caterpillars.

But I got something else - a snail - a real crawly, may be even creepy !
