safique, great report and pix. i think highlighting the other life forms and the biodiversity is really important. sometimes, Tigers, get too much of the attention and disappoint. The whole experience of being in the jungle and in the presence of mother nature in her awesome beauty is what we need to feel.

It seems that fees are increasing at Tadoba since 1st january 2012 : 600 Rs per person per day, 300 Rs jeep entry fee, 1600 Rs jeep fee, 200 Rs camera charge, 400Rs guide charge.
Should somebody confirm these rates ?
Thanks.

600 Rs per person per day - for foreigners ?

This rates if implemented will bring the Tadoba safari charges at par with any of the MP tiger reserves.

I was there 2 times last year, it was cheap so my agency ask me for the prices in 8th january email. Park autorities announced that prices will increase around 10% each year but it's more. So I ask indian people... Thanks.

Got info about Indians entry fee. The change is - entry fee has gone up by Rs 25 and guide fee from Rs.100 to 200. Didnt get details for foreigners though, I've asked for it and will post it here. It shouldn’t be that stiff hike IMO.

Green Bee Eaters are my best photogenic friend who has immensely engaged me in honing my photographic skill over the last year. This image is a tribute to this natures wonderful creature. They are immune to the regular sting of the Bee, can fly upside down, also a symbol of hope, growth, prosperity and off-course brings good luck if sighting start with a GBE :-). Hence, at the onset of the new year I’m sharing the good luck and wishing you all Happy Sighting in the New Year 2012.

Hi all,

I want to visit TATR (Tadoba Andheri Tiger Reserve) in April/May 2012. Please can you help me with the following information?

1. Places to stay and cost (I am not looking for luxurious rooms, just a decent one with good access to the reserve. anything available @500-600/ per night?)
2. How to book the safaris and cost (any online portals available to pre-book?
3. How many safaris one can take in a day? (I guess may be 2 - one in the morning and the other in the afternoon/evening?)
4. Is there any recommended guide?

Regards

Saugata,

Tadoba had been on my Radar as well for sometime. As I do get to take trips to Bombay often, temptation to visit Tadoba is getting stronger, may be I will give in someday. Sent you guide information by PM. I hope I get to take a trip down to Tadoba around that time as it coincide with a scheduled India trip for me.

Cheers,
Kartik

Saugata -
1. MTDC Mohrali is the least cost decent place there I guess - but cost double then what you have mentioned (sharing is a best option both for stay and safari)

2. You can book online through MTDC website - google it. Safari has to be booked through agent

3. Two safari in a day - morning & evening

Enjoy your trip.

Thanks Safique. I am looking for some alternatives (other than MTDC) for a couple of reasons -

1) My travel dates are not finalized.

2) I saw last night that MTDC resort is quite full during the two of my tentative dates

Any idea please? I can increase my budget. Safari I can share no problem, but shared accommodation (if you mean sharing a room with someone else) would be impossible for me since I will be travelling with my family.

Any help is really really appreciated.
