Does anyone know how you book a safari to Ranthambore National Park? I went to a site and they said that there isnít any availability for the dates that i wanted. Seeing as tho i am not going till early December, i thought this was strange???

I would'nt swear by this but, It could be that the booking system is'nt operating yet.

I believe it opens around the end of September ? but I would'nt want to be quoted on that.
If you are definitely going to Ranthambore you could ask your hotel to make some bookings !

I stick with Corbett. . Much better

Online booking opened this morning and we tried first thing to book tickets, but about 5 times we put in all our passport and card/paypal details and it kept saying the transaction failed. now all the gypsy tickets are gone :-( Does this mean all the tickets are actually gone, or have the hotels just mass booked them so they can sell them at an inflated price later? We wanted to do a mixture of gypsy and canter safaris, because I heard there were plus point to both, but what are the chances of getting a gypsy safari now? Does anyone know hoe we can go about getting tickets?

Thanks, Sarah

Hotels will have spaces - even at very short notice!

However - we had a brilliant tiger sighting in Ranthambore - in a 'canter'. Did 3 safaris - 2 in Gypsies - saw no tigers at all. One in a canter - full of chattering local tourists and had a long, close sighting.

It's all a matter of luck!

Hi

Have people asked their hotel to book them tickets for gypsies whne they are booking their hotel?

Is this the best way to get tickets for gypsies as they are all booked out for the rest of the year!

thanks

Yes!

Don't discount canter rides either. We 'did' 3 safaris - one in a canter; two in gypsies. We enjoyed a really good - long and close - encounter with a tiger while in the canter.

Can anyone recommend a hotel that is reliable for getting you tickets for Ranthambore National Park, esp gypsies?

From looking on the official website even the canters are booked out for many days in November

Thanks

Except the online booking, no one can give you the 100% assurance on getting a seat on the gypsy or a cantor. Having said that, hotels do have contacts that only ensure a seat, with no gurantee of either the zone or the vehicle.

If it aint this -
http://www.rajasthanwildlife.in/make...anyourtrip.jsp

then the online booking is not the real McCoy but one the hotel has created to charge premium off you.

We're talking India here! How anything works I was never quite sure - but it all worked - India Style!

My experience - book through the hotel - it happens exactly as promised.

It may not have been by the 'official' rule book! But it happens!!
