Planning on going to Ranthambhore for a few days, wish to stay in mid range acommodation, and be able to book jeep safaris (NOT cantors) into the park - does anybody have any advice on where to book hotels etc - and yes I have looked at the hotel listing page in here.
Planning on being there over Christams but want to book jeeps now - can I do this

The Ranthambhore Bagh will book jeep safari's in advance.

It's a great place to stay.

You will need warm cloths for the morning safari's around December & January.

Tiger sightings are on the increase again this year.

Cheers, here's hoping we get lucky.

Are there any alternative places to this, or is the best place to stay ?

I was in Ranthambhore just over 2 weeks ago and stayed in the Ranthambore Regency. I think it was about RS2500 for a nice double (can't remember exactly). Very pleasant hotel - picked us up from the station at about 2 in the morning, and gave us tea and snacks when we got there. Decent garden and pool. Food not fantastic.

As it's one of the better hotels in Ranthambore they seem to block book jeeps in advance. We went into the park twice, and on both occasions they sorted us out with a jeep the day before.

Didn't spot a tiger, but the tracks and warning calls from monkeys and deer told us we were close... Hope you have better luck!
