Shekhawati :

For next 2 days booked a taxi for visiting the fresco painting in and around the Shekhawati area. Its a big region, we selected Fatehpur- Mandawa - Nawalgarh. It felt like a more like an open air museum. But the paintings on many roadside havelis were deteriorating due to neglect.

Next stop was Mandawa, this was the best part of shekhawati and one needs to walk the narrow streets and explore the havelis. Unfortunately most of these havelis were locked and one has to be satisfied with the frescos on the outer wall.

There were many paintings on Europeans and them doing daily chores:

Religious motifs were dominant:

Finally we reached Nawalgarh , there the Poddar haveli is an interesting place to visit. Other than the fresco, they also run a museum that gives insight into the culture of this region.

The paintings were also a medium to educate the locales about the happenings around the country and the world, like the running of first train.

The eyes of the king follows you :

There are many many such paintings, presented only a few, the best way to explore the area is walking the narrow dusty lanes and appreciate the art that is on display.
After Nawalgarh, we returned to Mandawa and stayed the night there.

Jorbeer , Bikaner

Next stop was Jorbeer , we reached jorbeer around 9-30 AM,little late than actually planned . I had heard about the congregation of raptors , vultures in jorbeer but to actually see them all together is little overwhelming. Almost all the tree perch had steppes and egyptian vultures, the problem as a photographer was of plenty, so difficult to isolate any particular species for any good shot.I ran into bad luck here and our car tyre was stuck in sand and it took hours to get out of it.Few snaps from Jorbeer:

Make way for the king of the Perch:

An Egyptian vulture perched on a carcass as if it owns it

As my car was stuck in sand, i lost my cover and couldn't reach closer to the roosting Eurasian Griffon vultures.I had to crouch , hide behind a bush and aim with my tele. The photos are heavily cropped, lost some IQ.

A solitary cinereous walking past the roosting Griffon vultures

Flying away, cinereous vulture

My cover is busted, the Griffon vultures taking off

Eurasian Griffon Vultures , perched on a tree top

A desert jird, peeping from its burrow

Desert jird, digging its burrow, busy at work

A one horned cinkara, running away

Posing for me, steepe Eagle pair

Finally, Goodnight Jorbeer, Longlive the vultures, truly an amazing experience and an amazing place
