This is the first I have heard about it. I thought it was beyond Veerappan's beat but I could be mistaken. I will try to find out tomorrow.

I wonder if this is because this is Veerappan territory?
His main base is in Karnataka but he is wanted for smuggling sandalwood from Tamil Nadu.
The authorities have virtually given up their hunt because he has proved so elusive.
This is the most recent bbc report.

I went into the “Indira Gandhi Wildlife Sanctuary” in February 2003, I was never asked about my nationality, nor did I see any information saying that it was closed to foreigners.

Hi Martin

I was just passing through the park on the way north from Munnar to Ooty.
I don’t actually remember too much about the place, apart from that I liked the scenery in the area very much.

Sorry I can’t be of more help to you.

Regards

Harry
