but is it not obvious that people are using someone else's ID when their face doesn't match the ID? i mean.. i am just curious to know how they work. i know trip operators/travel agents are full of tricks.. thats their job!

hi Somnath

It is not true now.. FD knows these things and now they check every person with his Photo ID and numbers on every safari at the gate. If you are wearing mask then they ask you to remove the mask and open the face. They confirm and then only they allow you to enter the jungle.

What you are saying was true in past.

Then you have two options -

1. Avail canter ( mini bus) safari booking of which can be done from Chandrapur DFO's office on the date of journey & on first-come-first-served basis.

2. Book buffer zone permit ( tickets for both Agarzari & Devada buffer are available for your dates) now. It would cost only 600 Rs for permit for each safari. And then try for core are permits in tatkal quota.

In case you book core / buffer area permits , try to stay at any hotel in Moharli. Otherwise too much money & time will be wasted for transportation from Chandrapur to Moharli & back.

Somnathda, I think they will follow the mechanism what is being followed at Dhangari gate , entrance to Dhikala. One armed guard checks photo IDs of each tourists in Gypsy. Another official issues the entry permit / completes the paper work in the office at the gate. It doesn't take long to match the IDs.

In case of Amdanada gate (For Bijrani zone) the checking is not so strict though.

so i am going to book another gypsy tomorrow in tatkal quota for 1 member who wants to join us...(refer to my prev messages in the thread).
Now do we also need to book a vehicle beforehand to get into the forest or that can be arranged on the spot?
Do i need to take 2 different vehicles for 2 different bookings? as mentioned earlier, i had booked a gypsy for 3 people earlier. 1 person wants to join- for which i am making a separate booking. but 4 people can go into the same vehicle or do we need to take 2 vehicles?
if yes, then are the charges of vehicle different for tatkal quota (not talking abt booking charges- the vehicle charges)

You need not to book Safari vehicles / gypsies in advance. If you have the safari permit, you would get gypsies in Moharli. And yes, you have to hire two separate gypsies & two guides for your team. Gypsy charge for taktal booking is 4 times the normal charge.

Hi Nitin, for Tatkal booking, Gypsy charge is now 4 times the normal charge. So it would be around 2300 ( or 2500 with pick up & drop off ) X 4 = 9200 /9500 Per safari . A very very steep price !
