Gypsy for Tadoba safari information needed

Park is closed on every Tuesday.
I have done many buffer trips but never seen a Tiger over there. But many of my friends have seen good wild animals over there as well. You can try Devada or Agarzari buffer if you want. I think Buffer is open on Tuesday. you can ask Gypsy guy to book your entry. Its always Tatkal booking. Confirm with him. People are nice there. they will surely help you. Talk to Gypsy guy.. He will update you.

Last december, the road from Moharli to Kolsa range was closed. To go to Kolsa, you had to reach Pangdi gate or another one.
Is the road open now?

You are right. The roads were closed last year . But now main road is open. Some inner roads are closed now.
Lot of females with young cubs in Kolsa now.

Rather than Tadoba 12 days try Umred for a day couple of Safaris. Its worth. Any help on Umted, ask on my Umred thread.

Thanks, I went 2 times at Umred (last december and 2014), no luck. Maybe I'll go on tuesday 12th april.
Rules changed there, only 5 minutes allowed when a tiger is spotted...due to video of a tiger too close from gipsy (times of India news)

Please go through the Gate you have booked. They will not allow to enter you from Moharli if you have booked via Khutwanda Gate.

The information you have provided here has helped me immensely in planning a visit to TATR on 3rd and 4th of February. However I have the following questions in my mind right now:

1) We will be reaching Chandrapur by railway at about 9am and wish to proceed to the FDCM Tents at Mohurli for the evening safari? Would there be any (low cost) public transport available? Or is it best to have a cab pre-booked?

2) We have booked safaris online, but nor gypsy's. Are gypsys readily available at the Mohurli Gate for hire?

3) We being on a budget trip have booked just 2 safaris, 3rd evening and 4th morning. What areas in the reserve would you recommend for these 2 safaris?

if you are reaching at 9 then there is private bus called Sarkar which goes to nagpur. it is at 11:30 I think. they charge 50/- for Moharli. Taxi (Indica)will cost you 1200 approx. As it is FDCM will not give you tent before 12:00. as check in time is 12:00

Gypsy you have to book with many Gypsy owners. Gypsies are on rotation. But you can try to talk to Subhash (8055257451) he has 2 new Gypsies. He will book Gypsy for you. If Subhash's Gypsies are booked then talk to Nirav rawal. (9850453078)Even he has Gypsy. Gypsy rate is same decided by Forest Department. Getting Gypsy is not a problem.. your Safari ticket is main thing.

Tiger sightings are purely by Luck.. All jungle is full of animals. But still I would suggest you should visit Pandharpouni and Telia these two areas. I always do 6 to 8 safaris. but now days Pandharpauni and telia is having maximum sightings of Maya and Sonam both with their cubs.

We are staying at MTDC ..but the mohurli and khutvanda gates are not available for safari. The nearest gate from mohurli will be?? And is thr any means of transportation from mohurli to that gate. Cab or bus ?

If you are staying at MTDC then you have to choose Moharli Gate only. Or Khutwanda gate will be far away .. dont know if Gypsy driver will agree to go Khutwanda Gate from MTDC.

You should always book the Gate Entry ticket first and then the Hotel.
Now you can try Bus ride from the gate or Trip to the Buffer area. Go to Buffer area. Yesterday there was good sighting reports of Waghdoh male and his family of one female and four cubs at the waterhole. Photo here . You can talk to any Gypsy owner and ask him to take the entry ticket of buffer area. Devada and Agarzari buffer are good.
