I am planning to go. Although not confirmed yet. I will inform you if we visit at that time.

I visited bandhavgarh last year during mid October, just when the forest opened, saw tiger twice.

Avik

They charge pretty high for the Foreigners. Average cost works out to about Rs. 1500- 1750/- per day per person for a group of 4people. This cost would be for entry twice, guide charges twice, jeep + driver twice, which is what people normally do.

During the festival times, this charge can go up by 20%.

For Indians, I guess the Indian defitition is residents, for NRI's you'll have to check with the tour operators.

The cost for Indian would be at least 20-30% cheaper, nothing is sacred with rates. If you're going in high-season like in October, it's best to fix the rates in ADVANCE for peace of mind. If you negotiate after landing there, you're sure to get hit by the operators there. Ask for a quote, let's see what comes out, if it's reasonable, pay some advance, get the booking vouchers, so the deal is frozen.

Happy Hunting,

There are two types of costs incured in a jeep safari. Forest fees & jeep charges. Jeep charges are common for all @ Rs. 700 or so for one time. So if you go in the morning & again in evening that will cost you Rs. 1400 for the whole jeep irrespective of no. of person in the jeep. Of course there is a limit on maximum no. of persons you can take. But six of them can sit comfortably. For forest charges (which includes tourist entry fees / jeep entry fees / guide charges) as per my knowledge even if you have one foreigner in your jeep you will be charged rates for foreigner as the fees are charged per jeep basis & not per person basis. It's around Rs. 700 - 800 for Indians & Rs. 2000 - 2200 for Foreigners. Hope this helps. The rates mentioned are of May 2008, can't tell if they change the same from coming season.

Ronak.

Hai,

What shahronakm has quoted should be recent, his split up is more logical.

MPtourism rates are standardized, but December will be peak season with 20% surcharge. Take competitive quotes from While tiger or some other places of repute also so you'd get the base rate around that time.

I would be able to give you exact quotes, contact details and rates after my visit there in October end.

Happy Hunting,

Try mailing to:

Ms. Shubhangi,
resortmogli@yahoo.com

and take quotes and lock up ASAP on whatever rates you feel are reasonable. December is a trickly period where inbound charters book many resorts enmass and whatever is left will go for fancy prices.

I have booked yesterday from mptourism for 23 and 24th dec..I am Indian resident..but as you say 1 foreigner in the jeep means they charge 2000 for one round. We will go for 3 rounds, so how much should we need in total with all the fees?
Last year still camera was free. Is this change this time?
