Bandhabgarh, Kanha & Pench in Nov,2011

Following several threads about Bandhavgarh, Kanha & Pench.
Whether 1st week of November 2011 will be ok for the tour?
If so, what will be the right time to start communication with the persons mentioned in the post by kshil & abheekg.

Forest RH can be booked 2 months in advance or so, other than that regarding the guides, car you can talk any time you wish based on your convenience. Atleast if you start interacting early, you would be able to get an idea on prevalent rates and other important data points like forest timing, any major change in rules etc.

Wish you a nice and safe journey.

The parks reopen on 1st october and november 1st week should be a good time for your visit. Keep visiting my thread on pench for the updates from the park and i will soon start similar threads for kanha and b'gad as well for you to help you and the others in planning. Bookings of frh (if u r looking to use govt accomodation) is most critical and needs to be tackled first. The others viz... Jungle entry booking, booking gypsies can be done at a later date. I will put you in touch with good drivers and guides.

Much obliged to Mr. Shil and Dr. Ghosh for immediate response. What I have comprehended from your replies is , my first priority will be to book a confirmed accommodation either at FRH or any Pvt. arrangements mentioned in different posts of both of you. I seek your valuable opinion regarding the parts/zones of all the three places where FRH or Pvt accommodation will be worth booking. I, myself, have chalked out a plan as follows which requires approval from both of you :
@ Bandhavgarh- FRH at Tala zone / Kumkum lodge
@ Kanha- FRH at Khatia gate / Motel Chandan
@ Pench- FRH at Karmajhiri / Lalan’s Property.
I find from Mr. Shil's thread that @ Pench FRH booking only allowed just a month before your travel date here.
Suggest me accordingly.

For Bandhavgarh and Kanha, I have seen the properties, they are quite good and close to gate.

For Pench I haven't used Karmajhiri as I was in MPTDC (near Touria Gate) but Karmajhiri would be less touristy for sure and the choice looks great to me. But Doctor would be the best person to comment on this as he is regular to these forests.

Have a safe and nice trip!!

Thanks Doc. Surely I will. E-mailed to Motel Chandan at their web http://www.motelchandan.com/tarrif.html and got feedback from them. They have substantially enhanced their tariff from INR 1250 to INR 2250 +10%tax. per day for a non a/c room.[shock]
Anyways, give you trouble someday.:)

Why you are not checking the FRH at Kanha? Rooms with Air Cooler, TV, Clean/Attached toilets, big rooms, almost inside the Khatia gate I would say, in just 500/600.

It's extremely value for money and worth all the hassles of sending a DD and fax.

Dear Mr. Shil,
Subho Naboborsho....
I have tried to contact Field director, Project Tiger, Kanha at their e-mail cfkanhanpmal@mp.nic.in and another zen562@vsnl.net.in , but unfortunately delivery to both the e-mail failed with a remark " Google tried to deliver your message, but it was rejected by the recipient domain." I talked to them over phone and came to know that both the e-mail were long been dis-continued.Their new e-mail is fdkanha@rediffmail.com . They suggested me to contact them in the 1st week of Sept, 2011. I also called at Pench for booking of their FRH even they told me to contact at the end of October, 2011. Wont it be too late to wait till that time in both the places?
My mail to Bandhavgarh Tiger Reserve, Umaria at fdbtr_umaria@yahoo.com was duly delivered. However, no response from B'Garh yet.

Subho Nababarsha!!

Please don't try email with "Sarkari Babus", you would be getting much better result with phone. So just call them, speak over phone and then follow the process of sending application by fax and ofcourse the DD by post.

I have mentioned the whole process in details here in my trip report. Have you gone through it? Please ignore the email and call in the numbers given there.

On accommodation front you would be getting place to stay in both places as I have seen ample accomodation options available in both the places, just don't worry and you can safely wait till Sep 1st week for closing the accommodation part. Infact Kanha and Bandhavgarh still allow you to start the process 2 months in advance, Pench won't allow you to start more than a month advance from journey date which sometimes make it risky. Don't communicate now as nobody would care to remember a communication 6 months in advance. Start interaction during 1st week of Sep.

The main concern is Bandhavgarh Tala zone entry pass, I think they haven't yet opened the online booking for year 2011-12 for park opening from Oct-11 onwards. You have to closely watch that and the moment it's on, book your park passes atleast for Bandhavgarh as early as you can. Kanha/Pench can be available even 2/3weeks before start but for Bandhavgarh Tala zone1 it's difficult.

Seems Forest Officials at Kanha are bit different from those so called "Sarkari Babus" we are accustomed to find in our country.:censored::D
At least they replied my mail.
Dada, I have gone through your trip report and it is already in my "Bookmark".[praiseyou
Anyways, Mr. H.S.Negi,Feild Director of Kanha Tiger Reserve, suggested me to contact them in the 1st week of October,2011. I will start communicating them from the end of September. There is no other alternative but to wait for the right time to book the FRHs in B'Garh, Kanha and Pench.
Also keeping in mind your suggestion for park passes.
Couldn't find Dr. Ghosh for some days !!!.Seems busy with his passion and patient.:ThumbsUp

Debashis, Great to know your plans and preparations are fully on !! I am sure it would be memorable trip. As told by them keep calling them during Sep/Oct period, Pench would be real problem and don't take booking more than 1 month before, if you wait till then you would be risking your alternative options but Kanha and B'garh won't be any issue and remember my words, the forest RH worth every penny, outside hotels are mostly costly and very commercialized. Keep checking mponline for entry passes.

Doctor Saab seems to be busy with Patients and Passion, you are very much correct it seems, hope we would be able to see him soon :D

Cheers!!

Normally, for the next season, only 20 jeeps would be allowed in Tala zone. AS Forest department doesn't want to lose money, double prices are announced...

It's a terrible news!! They are slowly transforming Bandhavgarh to an expensive zoo.

Not exactly for me, tigers should be more quiet than now and officials want to expand zone 2 as Tala zone.
