I've heard that avoiding these parks weekends is a good idea. I would be going end of March, start of April. If I planned 4 nights in each park, that obviously means I'd be in one of the parks on the weekend if the 8 nights were consecutive. What would you suggest?

Here is what I plan to do at the moment:
Fly from Delhi and then drive to Kanha for a pm visit 1

Kanha with 2 excursions/day 2, 3, 4

5 After a morning visit in Kanha, drive from Kanha to Bandhavgarh, arriving by eve with no time in the park.

Bandhavgarh with 2 excursions/day 6, 7, 8

9 Morning drive in the park and then to Kani to connect to train to Agra.

Am I making too big of a deal about wanting to avoid any weekend time in either park? If I took a day or two on the weekend to stick in between the two parks, any suggestions on how I should structure the visit or what I should do that weekend?

Thanks!

Why should weekends be avoided? I'm going to Kanha for 2 nights in January over a weekend.

I'm planning on going there this weekend! have you found any great deals on accommodation? Any ideas which is the best town to stay in outside of Kanha?

Weekends are apparently more crowded.

Kristy can report first hand on the weekend traffic. Sorry I do not know about accommodations.

it wasn't so busy there at all. There were lots of jeeps in the parks but you only tend to notice this when there is a tiger around - otherwise everyone is separated.

finding a hotel was really easy
