Hi,

I have Booked the Moharli Gate (core zone) for 11th and 12Th Nov .. as suggest by Nitin – Spoke to Subhash Guide and gave my details to him, he has asked me to send the message with my safari details.

He also informed me that the gypsy prices and the tour guide charges have been revised from 1st Oct 2017 and the new prices are INR 2500 Per Gypsy / per safari and guide changes as INR 600 per trip ( He told me that he is offering me this price as I am booking 2 Gypsy and 2 Guides for 4 Safaris ( as we 8 ppl – we had to book 2 safaris each time)

There is one more Guide whom I spoke to prior taking to Subhash and as per him the gypsy and the guide is allocated at the gate as per the turns and we cannot book the gypsy and guide in advance – little confused here

Subhash has also informed me that the sighting are going good from last 10-15 days and chances to sighing is high on 11th and 12th Nov

Booking at MTDC hotel is done

Anything else that I should keep in mind before I start or must carry items that one should take along when going to resort or safaris

Fantastic Trip to Tadoba Pauni Umred

HI Friends,

Had a fantastic trip to Tadoba Umred and Pauni last weekend. Its very cold in JUngles now.
Great Tiger sightings in Gothangao this time. A Huge Male for 20 minutes. Missed the Tigress called T6 and her cubs. Better luck next time.

This time I went with Mr. Ajit and Mr. Amrut as I couldn't do bookings. Last minutes I had to change my plan because of Train tickets. But Mr. Ajit managed to do last minute bookings and Amrut organised my stay and food.

The only problem at Gothangao and Umred is your Gypsy should be first at the entry gate. Only First Gypsy get to see the Tigers. ASs the Cubs are young, they see the Gyupsy and ghet vanished in the tall grass. So at Umred Gothangao Gate you have to reach at 5 AM in the morning. Or keep moving in search of the Tiger.
Tadoba was fantastic as usual.

You can call Ajit if you want Tadoba Umred and Few other Wild or Tourist Places near Nagpur. HIs number is 8806606633.

If you want to do Umred and Pauni then call Amrut on 99600 96437. You can give my reference if you want. Pauni range is also happening right now... Ther are 6 Tigers. Jaichand, His Female and their 4 big cubs.

Some photos below.

Regards

Nitin

Your Tadoba thread has been very informative for anyone planning Tadoba , if you may guide us on other lesser known parks like umred, Bor, Tipeswar, Nagzira etc it will be very helpful.

Hello Nitin. You have collated a lot of stuff here , thanks for that. Any whisper about when the booking for safari for February and onwards would reopen? I will visit the park in April.
Cheers

Unfortunately the bookings from 1st Feb onwards has been suspended for some time , for many popular beats that is. I heard that they will reopen 60 days in advance but that hasn't happened. Hence the query.

Hi.. Thanks

As per new rules the Safari Booking opens 60 days in advance.
Previously it was 90 days in advance.
Keep checking at least once in couple.of days. You will get an idea.

Thanks

That's the issue. By sixty days system booking of Feb should've been open by now , but it is not, for Moharli etc.

Planning A Tadoba Trip

I am trying to plan a Tadoba trip for February and have a few questions...

The advice is to book safaris first. But, like others have already mentioned, the online booking is currently unavailable from February onwards.

There are 2 of us visiting. Will we have to pay for a whole gypsy or just 2 seats? If it is a whole gypsy what are the chances of finding others to fill those 4 seats and gain some expenditure back?

Nitinule - If choosing between an AC cottage at FDCM and a standard AC room at MTDC which would you suggest?

If I go ahead and book at FDCM will our safaris be guaranteed for February considering the govt quota mentioned? If so will we be able to share a gypsy with others to bring costs down?

Thanks in advance,

Kanny

Yes, you have to book an exclusive Gypsy for two of you. As far as I know, sharing seats in the gypsy is not possible.

Thanks Arupratan. Sounds expensive to me! Did you go ahead and book your stay despite the unavailability of online booking?

If anyone can advise on the current status of canter prices and availability? I am thinking to book at MTDC or FDCM and hope for canters at the gate.
