I agree. I wish I had kept my old tickets, nostalgia. Course sometimes I didn't have a ticket..

The opposite I think. Still, it was always a challenge like crossword puzzles to read Trains at a Glance..

Printed guides are often more useful.

The national websites for the trains in both France and Spain can't always seem to cope with the concept of changing trains en route, you have to do two or more searches anyway.

Song from a Tamil movie Punnagai, remake of Satyakam. One can see a carton of Hayward's Golconda Brandy in the side upper berth at around 1:15

One can see the Chennai Metro in the below song from the movie 96. It seems it goes to the airport.

Hello all. A quick question, if you wouldn't mind.

If I wanted to ask a question about travelling around Gujarat by train, should it be posted in the train section or the Gujarat section or in here?

Thanks in advance

Post it in the "Train Information" thread - unless you are an anorak who asks questions like "Which metre-gauge lines are still in operation in Gujarat?".

Thank you Golghar for your answer.

ps. I only wear my anorak if the train runs on steam (is there an existing thread about steam trains in India?)

Read this thread through; there ought to be some information on steam trains. Unfortunately, they only seem to run on "hertiage" lines now. There are some special runs on main lines:

Fear of trainspotters = Anoraknophobia?

Will read the article. Don't mind searching for steam trains, they are harder to find these days.

On this thread "trainspotters" are referred to as siderodromologists!

Goodness me. Six thousand Rupees for a day return.

Might have to put up with a standard train on that route. Haryana isn't really on my next intended route either.

My vague plan for an intended India trip in the near future would involve Gujarat then Kolkata, Darjeeling (sometimes steam I think) then the North East..South India if time and budget permit. Prefer sleeper class because of larger and openable windows. Planning to take mostly day trains. Anyway, enough waffle...
