I'm in the UK and trying to book train tickets. I've done it loads over times over the years. But Make my trip now have gone over to an app only system and without an Indian mobile number i can't confirm my booking. I can't even contact them via email as they insist on valid mobile number.

Clear trip keeps coming up with error messages, so struggling there too.

Any suggestions please before i throw my mobile across the room!!

thanks

I am not sure if MMT (that is make my trip) has gone app only, because I can see it on the computer here, in India. However there is no train booking option available on that platform (computer) as well.
Yatra.com however still has it and so does paytm.com (which requires an IRCTC account).
See if these two portals can help.
(More by the train experts soon, but I just wanted to divert you till then to save the phone!)

PS - tried train booking on MMT and it does confirm the app only option, so sorry for the first part of the post.

My understanding is that all non IRCTC booking options need the person to also be registered with IRCTC, which in itself can be a life changing experience!

(I know that is the case with Cleartrip at least...)

Seems best to try and register with IRCTC, as aarosh says, they accept international phone numbers on a good day.

Don't be fooled into selecting "Great Britain" if that is anyones location, use "United Kingdom", that worked for me.

Good Luck!

Ed.
