Hi,

I'm a relative novice with Indian trains too, but I just read somewhere that booking online doesn't work all hours of the day and night, and may work better in the morning if you're in Europe.

Good luck!

You need to book between 5 AM to 11.30 PM (Indian Standard Time)

Hi .I have tried using all the above helpful hints and the error message still comes up (booking not allowed for given pair of stations). Even when availablity is given as 2. As a bit of an experiment i tried Varanasi (BSB)to Guwahati(GHY).up came a price.Got through to payment stage no problem. Now very confused of Torpoint. Famous for its ferry.

I've read somewhere a post of VSP that in Rajdhani you cannot book tickets between two intermediate stations. You should either board or alight the train from originating or destination station. That would be the reason that we are not able to book tickets

Hi,
I am trying to book 2 tickets for Train number 06512 SL class for travel on 7th May, from PUNE to Birur (RRB) . The availability is shown as 112.
But as in above problem when I search get fare The message (booking not allowed for given pair of stations) comes up .
This is not a Rajdhani so the intermediate booking issue should not exist.
But still I tried to check from JP to YPR (final source and destination of this train) even though there is huge waitlist for those 2 pair of stations but just for information sake. But on going to search fare page the same message (booking not allowed for given pair of stations) comes up even for these 2 stations.
Please let me know what can I do to overcome this.

Alternatively, I would appreciate any alternative suggestions for the following itinerary.
Travel dates can be slightly flexible between 4th May to 9th May.
The 2 people traveling are senior citizens. (1 male 1 female if that matters).
They need to go from Pune to Sringeri.

I am not exactly sure which is best railway station for this, but from searching on the net it seems one option is via Konkan railway (ie. go to Udupi or Mangalore).
Unfortunately, all trains are heavily waitlisted in this summer vacations period.
I even looked from (Panvel) PNVL instead of PUNE but no joy.

2nd option is trains going to Bangalore (seems nearest station could be Birur).
Where I am facing above mentioned problem.
They would prefer to travel by SL class or in a pinch, 3AC.
Please let me know which train waitlist seems to be one that will move up, so that I can book on that.

Many thanks to all the train gurus in advance.

I am seeing three trains on the route and booking is available on all the three trains on the day. Booking is available for 06512 SL class also.

Other two trains are: 11021 Tirunelveli Express and 16505 Gandhidham Bangalore City Express. But both are wait-listed.

So please recheck.
