Hi!
This is probably one for Steven.
Is it correct to say that the earliest one could book First class Air-con on the Rajdahni express from Delhi to Calcutta is 2 months before?

I know an Indrail pass enables earlier bookings, but the top of the range Indrail pass excludes first class air con on the Rajdahni. It only buys you 2A.

From outside India I suppose Indian Railways online bookings would be the way to go http://www.irctc.co.in/

Would an agent in Delhi be able to book it any sooner?

May I hasten to say that this inquiry is for someone else. No way would I ever consider such an extravagant waste of money for a mere 17.5 hour train trip. Wooden benches for me every time.

Cheers

Kipling

Sorry, the Indrail pass I was referring to is the one day pass. Not the passes for longer periods.

Tickets can be booked 60 days ahead; the site you suggest is the best option.

If money is no problem and the particular train is an absolute must, I would suggest using the services of http://www.namasteindiatours.com/

Agents canít book earlier than we can, but they know the system so well and would virtually guarantee the reservation.

Thanks Steven.
I will drop him a line. He offers to take delivery of tickets bought online, but I didn't see any reference to him actually buying them.

I'm sure I remember him telling a member he would buy tickets for them, I may be wrong though, I suggested him as his prices seem reasonable.
