Printing Foreign Tourist Booking (FTQ) from IRCTC website

There appears to be a bug in the IRCTC website impacting the printing of FTQ tickets.

I booked an FTQ from JHS-DR on 16-09-17 for travel 14-04-18. It immediately booked the ticket and issued a PNR. The PNR (and booking) shows fine in 'Booked Ticket History', however when I try to print the ticket it will not do this and reports "Print Ticket Not Allowed for FT quota Ticket booked Beyond ARP.Facility will be available after (14-Dec-2017)"

The date is now well passed the 14-Dec-2017 (usual ARP date for this journey), so I cannot see why it refuses to print the ticket.

The ticket is showing on my IRCTC Android App fine, so I am hoping/expecting they will not insist on a physical print of the ticket - however has anyone met this problem and found a work-around to get the ticket to print?

Hi,

I have not had any experience with this, but if your ticket is displayed ok on your phone, I believe that will be sufficient.
Can you print a screen shot of the IRCTC page showing the pnr and travel details. That might be the next best thing to a "proper ticket", as well as the phone ticket.
Is it possible to print your ticket version from your phone?
(I am the least technical person on India mike!)

On a seperate point, did the ticket cost 50% more than the base fare, as you used the FT quota?

Ed.

Thanks Ed. Yes, indeed it did cost c.50% more. Fact is I was on a long flight when the ARP came up, and possibly 2 days from a reliable Internet connection. So I made the advance FT quota booking rather than risk going Waitlist on the reservation. I will only use FT in future under these same circumstances - although I am sure it happens I have yet to have a problem getting a CNF ticket as long as I am pretty sharp booking when the APR opens (although it got close booking 1AC/2AC bookings from Mumbai down the west cost around holiday periods, those seats seem to sell like hot-cakes!)

I think those Mumbai folk like to party big time down Goa way!

Have a great trip.

I booked tickets from the General Quota on the IRCTC website a few months ago for travel in October. I was using my desk-top but couldn't print out the confirmation directly. I had to take a screen shot and print that. However, they sent me confirming e-mails for each of the tickets and I was able to print these out in the normal way.
