I would like to know how does the premium tatkal (PT) pricing works. I haven't been able to get the precise information and perhaps people who have done the PT have the necessary idea.

The ordinary tatkal is Rs 400 above the regular fare for 2A. And does the PT increase in steps beyond this Rs 400? Or is it fixed like ordinary tatkal but at much higher value.

I see that from Mumbai-Goa, the regular 2A fare is Rs 1400 but the PT is Rs 5000!.

So, the question really is --if all the PT berths are at this price, or the price goes ever higher as PT booking proceeds?

It follows the airline pricing system - the last seat is the costliest, the initial ones near the regular tatkal price. (also known as bucket seat pricing system or something like that..)
