Jaipur>Jaisalmer Train Don't Take in December?

I was advised to avoid the overnight train from Jaipur to Jaisalmer in the month of December as this train is apt to be cancelled or can run six to ten hours late.

Can anybody verify this?

Many trains are late in winter, but worst case scenario is that you'll have to wait. :)

The notorious fog of North India does cause many trains to be delayed in Dec. and Jan.

But then the same could be said of most trains operating in Northern India, not just between Jaisalmer and Jaipur.I took a lot of trains around Rajasthan last winter (Nov and Dec) and didn't have any problems, the only delays I experienced were around Agra and closer to Delhi (maybe the moisture levels are higher there? I have no idea what causes fog).

I guess that if the train originates in Delhi and there are fog issues - there is the potential for pretty extreme lateness/delays by the time it reaches Jaipur and beyond?
