Is pop up window supposed to appear??

after the 5th train ticket I booked on IRCTC, a pop up window for my visa with United airlines popped up. I had to give my last 4 digit of my security number , email address and something else and signed agree to terms (which i did)before a 2nd window popped up asking me for a password so that other online purchases will use my account number.
I never typed in the password.

Does this sound fishy or am i paranoid?

I think this sounds decidedly fishy. Although I have never booked 5 tickets in a row (kudos to you for pulling this through), I have never seen this.
- choose payment gateway
- choose credit card type
- enter credit card details including security digits
- confirm payment
- e-ticket appears, ready to print
no email, no password during payment.

Maybe log out and try again from scratch? And check your account ASAP...

I had it too, it's some sort of security thing "Verified by Visa".It's a silly way to do it, though, via a pop-up window. That's bound to make anyone suspicious.

Booked tickets with IRCTC a few days ago. To contiue the transaction had to give only a password to to a popup secure site that I had opened up via the credit company (Mastercard - SecureV) which should have popped up with your first order but in anycase check what is written in the address bar would indicate if is real or not or check with Google - scams
