For one, the need to ‘Log In’ from the word go has been done away with. For another, there are high chances that you will be able to predict if your waitlisted ticket is likely to be confirmed or not!

I did not notice the obvious changes. Maybe the newspaper made news out of press release ;)

I also thought so, especially given the recent track record of dressing up everything. But then I noticed the "Try new version of website" on top left. Yes, it is a different website.

With the new site, I can't find the option to book a ticket under the senior citizen quota.
Where is it ?

If the age is 60 or above for male & 58 or above for female passengers Sr Citizen discount option (drop down menu ) would appear just below the name of the passenger. It will not appear for passengers who are not Sr Citizens.

Luckily they still have the option of using the old site. I made some bookings yesterday. As a senior citizen and confirmed Luddite I don't like having to navigate through uncharted waters.

Aaah no. I'm not referring to the concession.
When I last booked a ticket, there was a option to get tickets from a quota reserved for senior citizens. I'm referring to that.

LOWER BERTH/Sr. CITIZEN Quota can be selected (on top right corner) when you search and view the list of trains between stations.

Sorry, I misread your query !

Here is the option. It's on the page that lists the trains available between source & destination stations -

I think I am getting the hang of the new site now. I finally figured out how to cancel a ticket on it.
