Dear Friends,

Would request your help in the below queries. Appreciate your early response.

1. Are the cancellation charges per passenger Rs. 40 for an e-ticket consisting of total 6 passengers? If i cancel all passenger i need to play Rs. 40*6?

2. Is it possible to cancel e-ticket at a computerised Passenger Reservation Counters instead of irctc?

3. Is it possible to change the passenger name who is not into blood relation. I read somewhere that the name of the passenger, part of marriage group, can be changed by by showing the ID of the group head.

4. IRCTC says that there's nothing like 'Cancellation of Multiple Journey Tickets'. Where's as at the following link: the rule#8 says that:

Cancellation charges on multiple journey tickets- When an unused ticket involving more than one journey is surrendered for cancellation, the entire ticket shall be treated as one single journey ticket and refund of fare of the entire ticket, irrespective of reservation status of different laps of journeys, shall be granted as per reservation status of first lap of journey, as under:-

(i) if reservation status of first lap of journey is confirmed, refund shall be granted in accordance with rule 6; and

(ii) if reservation status of first lap of journey is RAC or waiting list, refund shall be granted , in accordance with rule 7.

Note:The cancellation charges or clerkage shall be levied only once on the entire amount of ticket and not separately for each lap of journey.

Please mention the procedure to cancel the multiple journey e- tickets.

Thanks in advance.

1. Cancellation charges is levied on per passenger.
2. No.
3. No.
4. Multiple Journey Tickets involves benefit of telescopic fare and can only be booked at the PRS Counters.
You can book tickets to various places connected to one another in IRCTC too, but in that case, you shall not be receiving the benefits of telescopic fare and hence shall not be considered as onward journey.

The rule stated by IRCTC as quoted by you above applies for PRS Tickets. (Onward journey, circular journey)

If you have booked multiple journey e-tickets, you need to cancel them one by one. Normal cancellation charges shall apply to each of them.

IRCTC cancellation charges

Rs 40 is the service charge per ticket not per passenger.

e-tickets are cancelled online only.

Refer details here in
