Hello All,

I have 2 confirmed tickets (e-ticket) on Shatabdi (Bangalore to Chennai) next week - for myself and my husband. Now, my husband will not be able to travel with me, but my father will be able to. Is it possible to transfer the ticket from my husband's name to my father's name ? Are the railway authorities very strict about the 'blood-relation' constraint in the name transfer rule ?
If this is not allowed, then will it be possible to transfer my husband's ticket to me, and my ticket to my father ? This sounds complicated, but I want to know if this would be allowed.

Thanks in advance!

Father as in your Father or Father-in-law?

If former, then no change is possible. If latter, then change is possible. Get a voter id/passport of both your husband and father-in-law with an application and take it to the clerk for the change. If he denies, contact the Chief Reservation Supervisor

Yes, in most cases. There are exceptions though.

Your name is already in the ticket. How many times would you want your name to feature in the ticket while the change takes place?
Sorry, but this is completely irrational and cannot take place.
