Looking at the Seat61 site today I saw that they now list this agency as being able to supply Indian Rail tickets worldwide. They do charge a fee.

Does anybody have any experience of using them?

I asked these people to quote for booking me 2 FC berths on train 58501 from Vizag to Koraput. This was their response

Quote:
Thank you for your email

I have checked with our supplier and the service you have requested only offers a class 3 sleeper with no air con which unfortunately we are unable to book from Australia.
There are actually 16 FC berths available on this train for my chosen date at the time of posting. I have pointed this out to them and wait to see if they are going to respond.

I am a bit puzzled by their response. It appears that they book through an agent in India (so more fees for more people). Why can't they book Sleeper berths?

If the OP on LP is quoting the correct figures that is gouging on a grand scale.
Quote:
The one Australian agency I contacted quoted me 120 AUD (about 60 british pounds) for a ticket that costs 1300 Indian rupee (12 pounds).
Seat61 is normally a pretty good site but it looks as if this time they might be giving a bum steer.

Just a thought, does this Australian agent only deal with 1st AC Indrail passes?

It would explain the price quoted on the TT thread.

Agents can sometimes be real shits, even lying when you don't request what they're offering.

Dave, it may be worth requesting a 2AC ticket from them for another sector, say from DLI to ALD (plenty of availability, and most trains take less than 12 hours) and see what they offer you.
