Any thoughts on using the Delhi Metro? Be grateful to hear from anyone who has done so.

quite comfortable and pleasing journey in terms of indian standards......it has surely changed the way Delhi moves.

I used Delhi metro (from Kasmere Gate ISBT to Connaught Place) twice only on insistence of my friend who was on a tight budget. I was pleased to see new shining coaches and stations, they had deserted look - Delhiites are not used to them. The ticket's price was cheap and the level of maintenance was high, unusually for India. I will post one of the fotos I took there (though it seem making fotos is illegal in metro as in many many places in India).
The one drawback of using Delhi metro - tightest security, first time I came with a bag - it was tortuously slowly thoroughly checked by armies of boring policemen, that's why my advice - do not come to metro with full bags or backpack if you feel uncomfortable with checking.

deserted look??? Delhities are not used to metro

at what time did u visit Metro??...metro are running perfectly, even attracting a lot of crowd on weekends who are mere "tourists" for metro, lots of delhities board metro on saturdays and sundays along with their family and relatives/friends, who are coming from outside of delhi, just to have a taste of it.

Yes, security is quite tight on Metro stations due to London Metro incident.
