Hi, I'm having trouble understanding the concept of having an i-ticket delivered to a paper address.

I am wanting to book train# 2479 From Jodhpur to Mumbai for the 26th Feb '08. But unfortunately by now it is down to WL in all classes. So I want to get on this [2AC is fine] but have to buy an i-ticket rather than the far more convenient e-ticket.

Since I am currently still in Australia, and I haven't confirmed where I will be staying in Delhi (first stop of India trip) What on earth address do I put down??

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

That is it. You need an address, an arrangement at a hotel or no go..

I suggest that you take the E-Ticket option. (not the I Ticket).

You can just print the e-ticket and carry the same at the time of your travel along with an identification document.

This way you'll not need to bother about the physical delivery of the ticket.

An E-ticket isn't available for a waitlisted ticket.

Indian Railways are doing some changes to their software to enable them to offer waitlisted tickets via E-tickets, I keep indiamike members updated.

Either choose a hotel, book it, then get an I-ticket sent to them, or wait till 6 days before the train is due to depart and book a Tatkal ticket (only 2 available for 2AC, but about 16 for 3AC).
