I know there are millions of posts on here about RAC/Waitlisted tickets, and I have read them thoroughly trying to understand. I just booked a ticket on Cleartrip.com, and the email stated I have been booked, but waitlisted/RAC. The actual ticket states my partner and I are RAC 5/RAC6, and when checking our PNR online it also states us as RAC.

I THINK that means I am fine if my ticket states RAC, from what I gather RAC is still a guaranteed spot on the train and a very likely chance of getting a sleeping berth. But I just wanted to make sure nothing funny happened as I am relying on this train to get me to Delhi for an international flight home.

Thanks for any help/suggestions!

I'm quite sure if you check PNR on erail.in or indianrail.gov.in and it shows you RAC status - than you have a reliable ticket with RAC status and have nothing to worry about

Hi Wichy! Thank you for your reply. I checked on indianrail.gov and it states the following:

Booking Status: W/L 1,GNWL
Current Status: RAC 5

Does that mean I am all good?

You didn't write when you are taking this train. Any way RAC5&6 will get confirmed in all probability.

I am taking it in 4 days. But I assume since my current status is RAC that I am confirmed for this train regardless, correct? I just want to make sure I can get on.

Yes you can travel by all means if you have a RAC ticket. You will get a seat instead of a berth.
