This is weird. I have to travel from HYB Hyderabad to BRC Vadodara via DR/DDR Dadar on June 1. I booked tickets in 3A and got in WL. I wanted to get confirmed tickets so I booked again in Sleeper, so that I can cancel it when/if the 3A ticket gets confirmed. I booked the 2 tickets from 2 different booking windows at the same office within minutes of each other. And same everything except the Class. Guess what? In the SL ticket, I have HYB-DR and DDR-BRC. But for the 3A ticket, I have HYB-DR and BCT-BRC. 12901 Gujarat Mail starts from Mumbai Central and passes through Dadar on the way to Vadodara. But why am I asked to board at Dadar in SL and in Mumbai Central in 3AC? This has me stumped. Surely, there can't be some crazy rule about not allowing 3A passengers to board in Dadar? Can somebody explain this discrepancy? In any case, is it ok for me to board in Dadar though my ticket says 'BRD BCT' (after all, Dadar comes after Mumbai Central) or do I have to go to Mumbai Central from Dadar to board Gujarat Mail? Thanks.

Quote:BCT cannot accomodate 24 coaches. Hence 4 Sleeper Coaches S4-S8 are attached and detached at Dadar.
Read the blog for more reference:
Buy an unreserved ticket and travel till Dadar. You can also ask the TTE to allot you any vacant berths in the Sleeper Coaches (if there is any empty)
When Dadar comes simply move on to your assigned coach.
