Hi everyone...

We will be a group of over 50 people travelling for a wedding in December in Sleeper class.

Was just wondering if it is possible to book blankets etc (as is available in AC coaches) as a special request to the railways. We will be travelling in Northern India so expect very cold temperatures and carrying so many blankets etc will be a pain.

Any ideas if this can be worked out?

Thanks.

I do not think this is possible. You can still talk to the Station Manager of the station from where you will be boarding.

That's unfortunate. I am making a trip to Kashmir on January and I know it will get extremely cold at night. I was wondering if the railway could provide blankets in Sleeper class but I guess not.

It's not feasible to carry blankets for the entire family. It's a bit of a dilemma.

There is an exception for the Duronto trains. If you are traveling by Duronto in Sleeper Class, you have the option to choose if you want bedroll and blanket at the time of booking ticket. You will need to pay a nominal fee though (Rs. 25) per bedroll.
