Hello,

I'm a writer in the United States. While my current story takes place in the US, I would like one of the main characters to be from Ahmedabad. I have a few initial questions, I'm hoping someone can answer. Are funeral pyres still common for Hindus in Ahmedabad? Would ashes be scattered and if so, where? The Sabamarti? Also, what is a sub-urban type, middle-class neighborhood in or near Ahmedabad? I apologize for the naive questions.

Many thanks,
Will
