Kofta/Ball Curry

One of my favourites and common amongst Anglo Indians, usually served with yellow rice.

Kofta or Ball Curry.

Kofta balls can be made with beef mince, chicken mince or pork mince.

I hope you were eating something nice when I sprang to mind.

Did Kerala get a decent drenching from the Monsoon this year ?
Yup, we got soaked, the last two days its been raining almost non stop.

It all depends on how many times the dough was folded. I am told that in Parathe-wali-gali, Old Delhi, you can get the original Moghul paratha with 256 layers.

Grilled open cottage cheese and tomato sandwich for breakfast. A last minute improv as I felt the paneer won't cook if I closed the sandwich (it was too cold) so I left the sandwich open and closed the grill on it. Turned out yummy. .

Looks great. But looks like panner, not what we call cottage cheese in OOSA. [And since what we call things in OOSA is what God mean them to be called...]

My favourite is the one made with beef mince..There is a version of the ball curry in Kerala as well. My mother used to make her own mince as she did not trust the 'cold storage' wallah ..

The 'fresh meat' shop did not sell mince in the 80's and the only option was to get it from the neighbourhood 'cold storage' shop.

In addition to frozen chicken/ mince etc this was also the place which used to sell sausages /salami /bacon etc . Pork /chicken/beef sausages were for sale . Supply was a bit erratic but since we knew the owner very well we could order/reserve the products..

The meat products were all made by the ' meat products of India ' MPI and is a public sector company . The products are still popular ..
