Hello. I'm going to be making root beer from a ginger beer bug culture I started, and well, I suppose we can get Indian sarsaparilla here, but wonder what would be good substitutes for the other ingredients, like birch root and wintergreen leaves. Anyone have a clue?

I read that it is also known as Anantamool or in the south as Nannari and is indeed used in the south to make 'Nannari sherbet'. I've not had it because I couldn't find it here in Kolkata, but I think i can ask my relatives to send me some Nannari roots.
