I thought it was dreadful.

But then, in those days, I was such a middle-class snob!

Get the shrikandh at the best hotel in Pune, the Shreyas (am not objective in this regard, was married there). Chicken Kolhapuri is often refused to forens including by a friend local to me, too much liability for that hotter than hot delight. If you can swear in Marathi in a friendly way it helps. Gotta have some young friends in a village and a lovely Spring day for the Jowar. Make sure the farmer is absent. Araku chicken go to the Araku valley and along the road watch for bamboo pipes with sellers. Now I am hungry and home sick. Back to Chadni Chowk for Parathavalla's:)..

I am collecting names of most liked Indian foods by foreigners who lived in India for sometime.

Would you not get a better sense of what is liked by the locals in your 'nabe by finding out what is popular in desi restaurants ?
