Andrew Zimmern known for his Bizzare Food show on cable TV Travel Channel, debuted a new series, Driven by Food with Hyderabad yesterday ( Tuesday, April -12)

http://www.travelchannel.com/shows/a...odes/hyderabad

This new series is trying to be like Anthony Bourdain "No reservation" was when it aired on Travel Channel.

Maybe time will tell, as more India stories are slated by Travel Channel this year.

The Bourdain material was actually good. Who knows about this one? I'll have to "tape"..

Will check this out, thanks. I remember his bizarre foods visit in Delhi. The show was pretty good, but there's something about his persona and way of presenting I find very annoying.

Absolutely - i dislike him as much as I dislike bobby chin.

OTOH, Bourdain is classy.

Zimmerman's Hyderabad was actually very good! We enjoyed it and my spouse has no tolerance for his other series. It turns out he has an interest in India. Some scenes are a bit stagey, he doesn't actually drive in Hyderabad, wrestling well no attempt. But, neither of these I would attempt myself. What a surprise that it would have content. Saw a few new places to me. Still, he missed the best foodie places. But, he can be forgiven for reason of ample street joint eating..

Yeah he is kind of a douche. He thinks his little remarks are cute and funny. They're just annoying. But I enjoy the exotic places he visits.

I'd go anywhere with Tony. But he'd probably bust my chops since I don't eat meat and he holds vegetarians in disdain. I really liked his No Reservations episodes on India.

His other show is Parts Unknown on CNN. Little bit less food than NR and more sociology. Still good.
