I presume this is a throwback to the prohibition days in Bombay when Lassi with rum had to be called Bhang Lassi.

Thanks, I didn't know that.

Last week I went to the Chilli Fiesta near Chichester and there was a Goan guy there who runs a spice mix/sauce importing company. He said that he's also got a restaurant in south London somewhere, near Croydon / Mitcham I guess. I'll try to find out where it is as perhaps we could try it at another meetup.

Another place I liked was the very low-key Raavi Kebab near Euston Station.

I see Drummond Street is picking up again.

And here is a Goan restaurant in Putney. And of course nothing can beat this one as far as South Indian cuisine goes.

Unless posh is required, I'm sure there are lots of places that can beat it. East Ham High Street and Ealing Road are places to start looking.

Can I come? I haven't been on IM for a while but am now starting to plan the next trip. And I am always up for an Indian meal!

Kind customers have made me change my schedule several times. Previous plan was to include London and A'dam meetups on my way from Wales to joining Mother in celebrating her younger brother's 90th birthday in Sweden. Greed and loyalty to one of my best customers won.

Leaving Wales on Friday. I'll keep following the thread for future possibilities. Will for example probably return to Wales sometime in spring.

So, is this right time to organise a London Meetup and welcome the new year? I'm thinking weekend date at end January. I feel it should be London proper, how about Drummond street as it stone throw from Euston Station?
Idle mind is a Devil's workshop.

We could take over Raavi Kebab if there's enough of us
Or how about Whitechapel way?

Up for that too.. Raavi's Kebab sounds good though. So either 26th January, or 2nd Feb?
