@ new_traveller...

Ever thought why someone would do a "dash" to any place? Not sure I read your sarcasm right, and. Im not sure how etiquette goes, (pardon me if I misunderstand) but usually comments that are unhelpful and without context... sound a bit rude.

I would be obliged if you would explain your comment a bit better because as it stand, that one liner sounds more like "there goes another idiot" ... and if that is the case, you should perhaps have said that direct
Some of my ramblings!

Well I meant another ignorant but then if you think idiot goes well then be it. I was and hoping that my comment will make you realize something is wrong in your plan and in turn be helpful if you read a little more.

If this does not fit in your etiqutte I really cannot help it. But I cannot sugar quote the fact that your plan sure is crazy.

Why not start reading this thread http://www.indiamike.com/india/ladak...-less-t162974/ not cause I started it, but cause it is sticky and has the wisdom of many who know the place better than you or me.

I know you seek a travel partner but what I think is you need some help on your ittinerary.

All the best !

@ new traveller - actually I do not seek a partner (Check above... was it me who started the thread?), however if I do happen to meet up with someone planning to drive up to Leh, I would not complain.

FYI I have been to Leh via Manali previously and have travelled extensively in Himachal and Kashmir. Im not quite sure how you judge someone as ignorant (or not) just by a comment which says, "I am on a whirlwind trip to Leh.." - are you implying its not possible? Are you aware of the reasons for my schedule or even what I aim for?

All I am saying is that its not good to assume things as you feel right - would make more sense to avoid sarcasm and instead try to be forthcoming and helpful. Regarding my etiquetee versus the rest of the world, I really cannot comment, but I seriously find it offensive that you choose sarcasm over simply saying "I think 4 days is quite extreme and you will not be able to do much sightseeing" - to which I would agree I never said I planned to go on a "see-all" trip to Leh.

I will stop the rant if you cannot gather from my comments. All the best!
