plan is simple…
30/7.. chandigarh to manali .. will get my bike via train from jodhpur.
31/7.. manali..
1/8.. manali- jispa
2/8.. jispa- leh
3/8.. leh
4/8.. Leh – Khardung La – Diskit-leh
5/8..leh-hemis monastary- pangong tso- leh
6/8..leh-tso moriri
7/8..tso moriri-tso kar-sarchu
8/8..sarchu-manali

plzz advice…will have to reach back by 10th..
and one more qustion… i am in defence…so i guess i wont be needing any passes…will i??

Hi Pratyush,

All depends on Rohtang Pass, if its closed you are stuck, also the iteneary looks too jam packed please note that 150 Kms would be the maximum distance which one can cover on an average in those roads, considering streams ( Pagal Nulla ), landslides & army convoy's .

So please research about alternate places to stay in case of breakdown / roadblock , advise you to carry some sleeping bags ( Army Issue ) and a tent if possible, be sure to carry medicine and water as per needs.

You may not need permission as an Army guy, but they might question why you are there ( if not posted in the area ) as it is a sensitive area, but i think you would not find any issue.
