Hi,

Am solo male looking for traveling companion(s) to watch and click Leh Festival (which I've heard is from august last week to sept first week, please correct me if dates are not same) .

I am from Chandigarh and prolly catch a flight to Srinagar, a night (or two) there to see locals, and next morning from there we can catch a shared cab or ride a bike, am comfortable with both. But As I have never rode in that area so I'll be more comfortable with experienced bike rider(s) for better guidance.

My motive is to click pictures and capture nice memories, want to click Monasteries and Landscape as well.

Please let me know if I can fit into someone's plan or some group's itinerary OR you want to make a fresh plan with me. Also, if you are a Photographer too, then its an extra perk for me, we both can learn and share thoughts.

Thanks.

Cheerz

: Kam

[PS: If you are from Chandigarh area, then PM me your number, we can meet before, Thanks]

Thanks for the offer buddy, but am afraid I wont be in India that time. I only have time till Sept end in my pocket. That's why am planning to make most of it now. But who knows If my plan extends, I'll love to join for October travel.

Hey mate, can't seem to PM you. I'm adding you on FB so that we can discuss further. I'm from SG, travelling alone and I'm heading to Leh/Ladakh for photography, some trekking if possible and the monastery experience as well.

Read my post at: http://www.indiamike.com/india/ladak...oriri-t173520/

Cheers,
Terry

The festival is called the Ladakh Festival and has always been Sept 1 - 15. I haven't heard that it would be different this year.

You can easily get a seat in a shared taxi from Srinagar to Leh at the taxi stand in Srinagar. No need to plan ahead. But do go to the taxi stand before 7 in the morning, because drivers want to reach Sonamarg by midday and go over the pass as soon as it is opened to traffic that direction.

Thanks for the info buddy. I'll keep in notice to take taxi early in morning if I go to Leh via Srinagar. Shared taxi sounds good to me.. easy on pocket. But as I want to go for photography, so don't know If cabby will stop places or just one break in between or it'll be non stop. I want to ride a bike from Srinagar to Leh, but don't know if If that'll be good idea, as it'll be my first time riding in that area, thou I know how to ride one but First I need to rent one (which i don't know the cost) then snyc out plan with other expert riders, am also pondering if I can rent a bike from Srinagar and leave it in Leh, or I have to leave it back in Srinagar after Leh tour completion, from where I picked.

Oops, It always was 15 days before, but today here's this news:
"Ladakh festival will be celebrated for 8 days instead of 15 days"
1st to 8th Sept, 2012

Or generally, for news from Ladakh:
