August : heading north from Mumbai

Hi there

I'm a friendly, resonably well travelled Aussie girl, but this is my first time to India, so it would be great fun to have a friend to travel with for at least part of the trip. :)

I'm arriving in India (fly into Mumbai) on the 3rd August and will have three weeks there before continuing on to Europe. My (very rough) plan at this stage is to get a rail pass and do a loop from Mumbai up north to Agra and Delhi, then spend some time in various places in Rajasthan before heading back down to Mumbai.

I love doing adventurous/outdoorsy activities like hiking, but also like to visit all the sites too!

Let me know if you would be interested in having some travel adventures together, or if you can just catch up for a chai somewhere!

Now that it' monsoon I go for a hike every weekend with my friends, so if you want a taste of the wild western ghats then you are most welcome to join us.

If you want to do a loop then it would be a nice idea to climb up to Agra via Gujrat and Rajasthan and then come down via Central India. If you like we can always meet up over a cup of tea/coffee

Re : August : heading north from Mumbai

Oh you mentioned Tea. So, I would be up for grabbing a cup of tea if you are visiting Pune(or may be Mumbai if we happen to be there at the same time). Or I could join you for a day or two if you decide to travel in Maharashtra. I just did the trip to north and I highly recommend it. I strongly recommend visiting Taj Mahal pretty early in the morning. Enjoy your stay.

dont go for trains if u single

hanna, my advice to u would be to travel by plane between mumbai and del as indians trains i dont cosider very safe for single female traveller.and there r some reasonably priced flights available that u find find in similar pricing to the train .if you intrested in some trekking in the himalayas then let me know as i might be off for a short tour of 5/6 days around the 15th aug .my mail is single_traveller@rediff.com
