I am looking for some like minded (read budget travelers and trekking enthusiast) travel partners for Annapurna Base Camp Circuit starting from around 25th April 2010 to 25th May 2010. That is the only time that I can spare and hence I cannot be flexible on it.
Let me know.

It is quite a popular trek... a google search would give loads of sites .. But I am not very keen on doing the packaged treks.

I did the trek upto Dzongri.

Actually my plan was to do the one month basic mountaineering course at HMI, Darjeeling and then do the Goecha La trek. However for the high altitude training of the course, we had to trek up to Chowrikhang in West Sikkim. It is the same trek as Goecha La upto Dzongri where it turns for Chowrikhang. It is one of the most beautiful trek I have done. Amazing views of Kanchenjuga from Dzongri top ! Definitely recommended !

After the course, I wasnt excited about trekking on the same route for Goecha La. Instead, I went to Bhutan.

Thanks, and nice picturesPerhaps this should be posted in the Goecha la thread. Just a few questions-

1.Chances of doing this solo/or with a very small group of porter/guide/cook?

2. Its probably you, in pic #59 - are crampons a must?( I see where you are standing and the terrain in general)

3. Is Darjeeling a good place to buy some gear, considering its proximity to Nepal

Yeah let us stick to the topic over here.
Annapurna Base camp circuit
Just to answer the few questions. It is affordable for a small group. No crampons are not required. That was our glacier training at HMI.
