How are water vendors still a thing?

(The ones selling supposedly filtered water for one rupee a glass)

I don't think I followed what you want to say..
Anyways, you will still find the water vendors selling water by the glass in some places. This could have gone well in the other thread you had started!

The water isn't "refrigerated". Its just a block of ice and tap water. So certainly not recommended for sensitive first-world tummies!

How is public defecation still a thing?

I understand some people live in rural areas, but I see people squatting 10 yards from a public toilets.

Maybe if you checked out the public toilets you'd reject them too!

Otherwise, I guess that some people just regard crapping as a chance to get some fresh air!

Yeah, fresh air full of PM2.5. Unless it's the monsoon. N95 masks should be the new thing.
