Hey all,
I will retrun to India in November and will have around 2month before going back home to Nepal. I will do some cycling and donīt know where to go... Primaly mountain area is a must, I know its not that season for mountains, so I thought going to Arunachal Pradesh and Sikkim or to Kuamon and Gharwal Himal (but cycled there already in winterī08). Some other areas worth to suggest?
Can someone give anyother suggestions where it will be ok in Nov./ Dec., cold weather is not a big deal for me as more are iced roads...
Ladakh an option, once while flying in and out, how far it will possible to explore Indus valley?
posted already in other forums but didnīt get a satisfied answer...
Thanks
chris

Eastern Himalaya is ideal for that time of the year. Sikkim and Arunachal get my vote.
Couple of years ago an American friend of mine had borrowed my Royal Enfield and had gone to every conceivable corner in the north-east except Manipur.
While riding through Assam he was escorted out from Bongaigaon (western most town) to Guwahati by two armed police constables on motorcycles !!! Can you imagine? The district police chief had earlier met him in the hotel and enquired politely about where he was going etc and then sent the constables (quite on his own) next morning - my friend didn't seek them.
Actually foreigners, aid workers etc run the risk of being kidnapped in Assam and the police chief didn't want to take a chance. My advice would be for you not to ride through disturbed areas.
