Hi
We are going to India on the 22nd March to the 8th July. It will be our first time so need as much advise as possible. We fly into Mumbai and out of Chennai. The places we want to see are Varanasi, do the golden triangle, Udaipur, Goa and Cochin. Do you think we should do it in this order considering weather etc and do we have long enough? Any advise would be great, thanks

You mean next year ???

Goa and cochin will have monsoons during end May and July...so, u must think again abt these places.

So, u r talking abt roughly 3 and half months...that is a lot of time...why r u not thinking of going to Himachal and Uttaranchal to catch a glimpse of Himalayas in all its splendor. May - June is the right time to get there. Think about it.

Will have a look at the Himalayas. So it looks like leaving out of Madras is a bad idea, opps its booked now! Would Kerala be a no go area in June and July due to the Monsoon

welcome to IM happy1,

my advise would be to go down to cochin once you have adjusted a bit after landing in mumbai. than you could make your way up north to goa, udaipur the golden triengle and varanasi. than down to chennai. this way you avoid the monsoon pretty good. the monsoon isnīt affecting chennai and in april it hasnīt started in cochin and goa.

Thanks for the advise, yes I think we will maybe go down south before the monsoon hits and then make our way up the north. If we get a train from Varanasi heading down towards Chennai can anyone recommend where to stop off and see, is there much along the East coast towards Chennai?Does Chennai not get hit by the monsoon?
