Hi, i'm Jon and 21, going from chilly Britain to hot india March to July, and slightly put off by the fact that everything i read says 'the best time to visit india if November to Feb'. It is going to be far too hot and or rainy for me to get the most out of a trip in spring summer??? I want to spend some time up in the hills, but not the whole time up these sheltering from the weather (the irony of leaving the uk because of the weather to do that would be too much to bear).

Please help me!

Hello Jon !

It depends on which areas of India do you plan to visit. North Indian plains resemble a furnace from mid-April to end-June. During this period, South India is less hot in comparison. The South-West monsoon commences from Kerala towards the end of May and starts moving upwards, along the West coast.

May is probably going to be the toughest for you. That is when I would suggest you spend time in the hills. June-July should be fairly OK in the south with the rains cooling the temperature.
