Please suggest a less visited and less crowded place for Jan 26 - 29, 2012. Jan 26 is National Holiday, I have taken off for Jan 27, friday - I know the whole of the India have already taken this day off - Delhi Ncr people will be going to Shimla/Manali/Nainital etc...etc the hilly areas will be crowded no doubt. So not advisable to go in North India I think.

Can anyone please suggest me where to visit during this time..?

India's Republic Day on 26th January!

India had got its Constitution on 26-January-1950. It is a national holiday here in India on 26th January. Schols, colleges, Banks and offices remain closed on the day.

There would be a national level festivities on that day including a Grand Parade in Delhi with live telecast everywhere!

Nothing to worry! You can travel, there won't be any problem on that count!

Wish you a happy journey!

Go to south india's hill stations those will be less crowded then north India's hill stations.

as Jan 26 is Holiday thus from 26 to 29 you will not found much good and less crowded places.

If you like little crowd choose Goa/Kerala (or any other good seashore place)

If you want to go for pilgrimage of your faith that also you can do.

But you have to plan early and book the hotels/travelticket etc very early.

South India and Goa would be taking his plenty of time in traveling as he has to ravel from Delhi!

Satpura hills near Bhopal - Ratapani is a proposed tiger reserve. NZM-BPL express is perfectly timed from Delhi to arrive in BPL early morning (leaving ~9 pm from Nizamuddin). You have 4 days, it would be perfect.

Day 1 can be Sanchi / Vidisha
day 2 can be bhimbetka / Bhojpur
day 3 can be Satpura national park / Ratapani
day 4 same and come back to Bhopal to visit the lakes, Van Vihar and take the train back.

OR just take the bus to pachmarhi (but i dont think it would be less visited)

Great if you're driving / riding .... perhaps the best state in the country. Will be peak tourist season though....so certainly not less visited.

Did you go to Ratapani? Any place to stay there (am still trying to figure that part out)

Varun,
May I suggest you to visit Pench National Park, located on the southern boundary of Madhya Pradesh, bordering Maharashtra, in the districts of Seoni and Chhindwara. Pench National Park, comprising of 758 SQ Kms, out of which a core area of 299 sq km is the national park.

There is a very interesting thread going on in IndiaMike also. You could get all the support from Dr Abheek Ghosh also, in case you decide to visit the place.

It could be of your interest and you may cover it in the time-span available with you.
