Hello all,
I'm new to the forum, and I'm starting off with a query that might be sort of difficult to answer! Any inputs are appreciated though .

I'm going from Ahmedabad to Bangalore (by train), but I want to make a few stops on the way and do the journey over a few days if that's possible. I want to draw and paint on the way (don't know if that's relevant!). Any suggestions on places I could stop at on this route? Apart from the big cities like Mumbai and Pune I mean.

Need to book tickets almost immediately, so I'd really really appreciate any replies soon, thanks ! Cheers.

6501 Ahmedabad-Bangalore express goes via (Maninagar,Nadiad-not sure)Anand,Vadodara,Surat,Nand urbar,Jalgaon,Manmad,Daund,Sol apur,Gulbarga,Wadi,Raichur,Gun takal,Anantapur,Dharmavaram,Hi ndupur,Yelahanka,Yeshwantpur,M alleswaram to reach Bangalore City from Ahmedabad-approximately 1850km.
While 6505/07/09 Gandhidham/Jodhpur/Ajmer-Bangalore exp(or even 6209 Ajmer-Mysore express)goes via Ahmedabad(Maninagar,Nadiad-not sure),Anand,Vadodara,Bharuch,S urat,Valsad,Vasai Road(near Bombay(Mumbai)),Kalyan,Karjat, Lonavala,Pune,Satara,Sangli,Mi raj,Belgaum,Londa,Dharwad,Hubl i,Harihar,Davangere,Birur,Arsi kere,Tiptur,Tumkur,Yeshwantpur ,Malleswaram to reach Bangalore City-approximately 1662 km.
6531 Ajmer-Yeshwantpur Garib Nawaz express or 6533 from Jodhpur is another option-route is same as that of 6505/07/09/6209 from Ahmedabad to Hubli after which it goes via Gadag,Bellary,Guntakal,Anantap ur,Hindupur,Yelahanka(like 6501?) to reach Yeshwantpur(5km from Bangalore City)-approximately 1750 km. Hope this is useful.

Thats a long journey and not sure what interests you.
But you can't just get off at a station and catch a train the next day. Each journey needs to be booked. Unless you want to travel short distances and are OK to travel General class
