Hello

we're 2 women traveling for the 1st time in india.
we're landing in Cochin International Airport on a Sunday in December:

Sunday:

ARRIVAL 3am to Cochin International Airport
I thought we'd sleep in the airport till sunrise then we can walk around Cochin until its time to take our train to Alleppey

do i have to book the train in advance? (air conditioned, 1st class; we're looking to take 1st class just to make sure the coach is private and clean; is that the case?)

at Alleppey we're going to hire a houseboat on the spot, no booking in advance, is that cool knowing that its high season?

Monday:

Check out from our boat at 9:00 AM; we travel back to Kochi to overnight at Cherai Beach Resort

I read that there's a Carnival in Cochin. When and wd where? any helpful website?

Tuesday:

head to Kalpetta where we can see Pookot Lake and Soochipara Waterfall on the way then we can stay at www.streamvalleycottages.com

can we take a taxi from Cochin to Kalpetta? how much should it cost us? are google maps travel durations accurate? is it cheaper to travel by train and take taxis to and from the stations?

Wednesday:

we head to Coorg, Karnataka
we get a guided tour in a coffee plantation and stay the night at Honey Pot Homes (www.honeypothomes.com)

same concerns on how to travel from kalpetta to coorg :s

Thursday:

We head to Goa and stay there for 2 nights
we just want to party in Goa on the beach

any suggestions for cheap clean hotels?
also, same questions as to how to get to Goa from Coorg

Saturday:
we head to Pune, where we're spending 6 days at the Osho Meditation Resort

Then we leave back to Beirut from Mumbai

same questions on transportation from goa to pune then to mumbai

is this itinerary possible? or is there too much traveling?

if you have any other suggestions in terms of locations to visit, we're pretty flexible, still researching everything

Thank you!

If you want to travel 1st class you need to reserve your tickets in advance as there are few 1st class on all trains.
In the month of December I doubt if you would get a cheap room in Goa.

Yeah, it's a bit too much. You'll spend loads of time on transport. Restricht yourself (eg to Kerala) and have a lot more fun.
